This "king" is a modern-day power who opposes God. He will operate until destroyed by God's seven last plagues, and therefore exists at the time of the end. That time is now. Which nations in the world today claim to be greater than God and do their best to stamp out or control anything to do with God? Could it be China, Russia, and/or North Korea?^****
